Two gaps closed in the perimeter block

This project, with the programmatic title "Meister-Werk" (Masterpiece), on the site of the former IMCO lighter factory owned by Julius Franz Meister (now the namesake of the residential complex), was developed in cooperation with the architectural firm DMAA.
On a T-shaped plot, the edges of the block are closed off by two new buildings, while an existing building in the courtyard was renovated and thus preserved.
The residential complex impresses with its complex floor plan geometry, in which a wide variety of apartment types have been interlocked in three dimensions. L-shaped apartments facing the courtyard with private gardens (detached houses) alternate with interlocking maisonette apartments (terraced houses), which are accessed via naturally lit central corridors on every second floor. Thanks to the allocation of generous open spaces (gardens, balconies, roof terraces), all apartments have the qualities of a single-family home.
